Family of FIND Food Bank founder volunteers for his 100th birthday

It wasn’t a traditional birthday party, but 100 years after the birth of FIND Food Bank founder Wayne Robinson, his family came together to honor the man who wanted to fight hunger in the valley. Wayne Robinson’s 100th birthday happens to land within the last three days of 2017, which are also the largest donating days of the year. Stater Bros. Markets decided to join in on the celebration and gifted a donation of $20,000 to FIND. That amount will provide 140,000 meals for 2018, in addition to food donations collected from customers throughout the holiday season.

As we enter the new year and begin to start a new chapter, some of our neighbors in need are not as fortunate. Join the Robinson family & Stater Bros. Charities and give the gift that goes even further to change someone’s life: $1 = 7 meals.

An estimated 25 – 40% of food grown, processed and transported in the US will never be consumed. When food is disposed in a landfill it rots and becomes a significant source of methane – a potent greenhouse gas with serious side effects, including global warming.
