Everyone knows that feeling of an empty stomach.
When there was no time for breakfast. Or a meeting was booked over lunch.
Or, perhaps it’s because there’s just no food in the fridge to make a meal.
The feeling of running on empty is a reality for 48 million Americans.
Without that fuel and nutrition, people — kids especially — don’t have the energy to focus, learn, grow, and ultimately, succeed.
We need to make sure that no child, adult or senior in America ever run on empty, and this September, we’re asking everyone to come together for #HungerActionMonth to help end hunger.
What is it?
Hunger Action Month (September) is the Feeding America network’s nationwide awareness campaign designed to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger. The campaign brings attention to the reality of food insecurity in the United States and promotes ways for individuals across the U.S. to get involved in the movement to help end hunger.
Why should you participate?
Hunger exists in every county in the U.S., affecting 48 million Americans including 15 million children. In our very own Coachella Valley, 1 in 5 families are struggling with the reality of food deprivation.
